Roark's Lab - Experimental B&W
Paul Roark is an independent B&W photographer and printer. He is the architect of the MIS black and White inks. His knowledge of the B&W process is extraordinary. We highly regard his methods and opinions. He is not an employee of MIS Associates Inc. His opinions and recommendations are not to be construed as MIS policy. For more information about Paul, his work and his black and white discoveries, visit his website.. www.paulroark.com
These are some of the experimental ideas Paul has for Black and White Inks. Here you will be able to purchase some of his latest developments before they appear on our site. These products are sold without warranty or any promise of performance. They are strictly experimental. Use at your own risk.
The recipes for Paul's Open Source inks, as well as, basic curves and profiles are provided at no cost, and he does not profit from their sale or use. If you enjoy using these inks and would like to support his R&D on future Open Source inks, consider a donation to his website http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/
Open Source Inks
These bases and inks are used in Paul's open source inksets. We provide the bases mixed to Paul's specifications for those users that either do not want to purchase the individual ingredients in bulk or cannot readily obtain the components. These bases are not the same as our MIS bases, and thus do not always have the same properties and should not be considered interchangeable.
As these bases are an open source product for customers to produce custom inksets we can only guarantee that the base is mixed to Paul's specification and cannot offer support for the actual mixing or use of the inks. These bases are not returnable as they are considered a specialy product.
Paul Roark's Carbon Bases
These C6A, C6B and C6C bases are mixed to Paul's specifications which are freely available on his website. http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/Ink-Mixing.pdf
Paul Roark's Epson-Noritsu Advanced Dye Clear Bases
As with the C6 series bases the dye clear base is an open source base produced to Paul's specifications. http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/BW-Dye.pdf
